Membership Steps

About Membership

ICHE membership is open to any institution that awards certificates, diplomas, or degrees at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate levels. There are numerous advantages to becoming a member institution or accredited by ICHE.

In order to become a member of the ICHE, an institution must:

1. Apply to become an Institutional Member. The Membership application form is accessible on the ICHE website www.icohe.org via the “Apply for Membership” button in the header.

The application must include:

a. evidence that the school has a publicly declared mission that is acceptable for higher education. This mission must have been approved by the governing body of the institution (i.e., trustees, regents, directors).

b. Proof that the institution confers degrees at the U.S.-equivalent levels: associate, bachelor, masters, and doctorate. A non-degree-granting institution may apply if it offers completion certificates or diplomas.

c. A copy of the institution’s most recent catalogs, prospectuses, marketing brochures, or other materials describing its undergraduate and graduate business-related degree programs. If this information is available online, please provide the direct link(s).

d. Declaration of dedication to business education excellence.

e. Application fee of $150 USD is due with membership application.

2. Upon receipt of conditional Institutional Membership approval, the applicant must pay the necessary Institutional Membership dues. Inability to pay on time will result in the cancellation of the ICHE Institutional Membership application.

A representative of the ICHE will contact the selected ICHE principal representative to discuss the next steps in the ICHE accreditation process once the Institutional Membership procedure is complete.

Institutional Membership grants access to ICHE Member-only Materials to people inside the institution. Institutional Membership does not imply or guarantee any sort of accreditation, nor does it ensure that any institution will be accredited by ICHE. The institution may publish the fact that it is an Institutional Member of ICHE, but only in accordance with ICHE’s standards.

New universities, colleges, and schools can petition for conditional institutional membership. After the institute presents a list of students’ enrolment, conditional membership will be promoted to full membership.

Call the ICHE office to discuss the various choices.

Schools may be granted the following status when going through the membership process:

  • Conditional Member
  • Full Member
  • Probationary

Once an institution has paid applicable dues, ICHE will issue a certificate of membership via Certif-ID. Certif-ID is company that issues certificates that are verified via QR code and linked to blockchain. ALL Certificates issued by ICHE must contain the QR Code and be verified by ICHE.

AUTHORITY OF STATE  OR GOVERNMENT TO OPERATE

ICHE cooperates with states and governments by only accrediting institutions that are licensed, accredited, or have special authority through exemption.
